Why isn't there one of these yet.

E3 this year was pretty much exactly as I expected. I wasn't really all that excited about it beforehand, and I wasn't overwhelmed by anything after the fact. The conferences were pretty lame, for the most part. Each one had it's highlights, of course.

Microsoft was hilariously terrible, but they did show the new Tomb Raider reboot, which looked cool, and I know a lot of people liked the Resident Evil 6 thing they showed.

I missed EA, but I heard all they showed off was Dead Space and sports, neither of which interest me.

Ubisoft's conference was probably the best of the five, in my opinion. Assassin's Creed III looked amazing, and Rayman Legends looks pretty cool. They seemed to really like the WiiU, since they spent half the conference talking about how great it is.

A couple of the things Sony showed off were cool, but probably not things I'll buy. Sony Smash Bros looks nice, though. I know a lot of people are complaining about Sony just ripping off Smash Bros, but I honestly don't mind getting a professional Smash Bros. game done with Playstation characters. The Wonderbook was a good idea, but the execution of it was horrible. When they were showing off the Harry Potter thing, nothing seemed to work right, and it was just laughable. I was honestly surprised that Sony didn't stress the Vita during the conference, though.

Nintendo was alright. Pikmin 3 looks absolutely beautiful, as does New Super Mario Bros U [The backgrounds in the levels were gorgeous!]. Nintendo didn't really talk about much else memorable, other than that they were going to have that 3DS conference, but give me a second before I get into that. I've been hearing that Nintendo Land is more fun than they made it seem on stage. And.. uh, Batman. Okay. I'm not sure if I'll want to buy a WiiU yet. It all depends on how much it will cost, and I'm afraid it might be pretty pricy. It's looking like it'll be getting a lot of nice launch titles, though. A lot of people seemed to think Nintendo was going to talk about the next Smash Bros, but I'm glad they let Sony keep their thunder.

The 3DS conference was probably the only one that had me interested the whole time. Castlevania looked cool, but I've never played a Castlevania game, so I don't have much to say about that. New Super Mario Bros 2 looks fun, and you don't even know how happy I am that it'll be multiplayer like the Wii one. I added it to my list of Summer games I want to buy. So much gooooooold! And then there was Paper Mario. Ooooh, Paper Mario: Sticker Star. Maybe I'll go into detail on that later, but this message is already getting pretty long. Long story short, Paper Mario: Sticker Star has my interest, but I know the changes to the core system will make a lot of people upset. Also the name is such a huge step down from "The Thousand Year Door". Then they briefly mentioned a few other games that I'm interested in. That Epic Mickey game looks cool. And Heroes of Ruin looks cool. And Kingdom Hearts 3D looks cool.

And that's my thoughts on E3!

Discuss!

All I bothered watching was Microsoft's and Nintendo's.

Microsoft after the live showing, because I despise them as a video game developer and I only watched the performance after I learned how poor they did. So I'm a little biased. But yeah, despite that, I thought it sucked. Hardcore. You don't get much worse than Usher, truly. Halo 4 was the only "high light", and I thought it looked absolutely terrible. But that's just biased old me.

Nintendo's was... Boring, to say the least. Nothing interested me. All I really cared about was for them to redeem the Wii U and show me what it's made of. I was impressed, for the most part. I like the concept of being able to play the game while someone else is watching television. That's actually really cool. But the games they showed... Meh. Very meh. I like Pikmin, not particularly a big fan of the franchise, but I found revealing Pikmin 3 as the headliner to be kinda disappointing. You just KNOW everyone was anticipating Super Smash Bros. But no, just showing off the Wii U's functions. That's what the games serve for, as well. Conduits for showing how the Wii U works. That's what I saw them as, anyway.

I can't remember the 3DS one at all. Admittedly, I was a little drunk off some cheap beer offered to me at this graduation party I went to on the third. All I remember is Paper Mario. And, yeah, looks decent. Title is lame though. It's not as grandiose as the Thousand Year Door by any means. And I'm not gonna go out and buy a 3DS now for any reason.

And like I said, didn't see Sony's, didn't see EA's, didn't see Ubisoft's.
Overall though, it was all very boring and a bit of a waste of time.

I give Nintendo a C.
Microsoft gets an F with as much prejudice and bias as possible.

That's all I have to say.

Lol jeff your post reminds me a lot of the steam chat convo.

Well for one, the Sony Smash Bros. looks like every single 2d platformer fighter that is 3d pretty much based on Smash Bros (Obviously not talking about strategic fighters or that kid one that had the powerpuff girls or something), it's kind of getting it's own genre or something to me now (You know, like Battle Stadium DON I think it was, the "Tales of VS" Fighting game, etc..)

The fact that WiiU is pretty much in a small basis taking out the look on the other player's camara view "cheating" feature, is really a pro and one of the few I see from the improvements of the Wii to the WiiU, but basing this in the really small number of changes that I really just see it as another Wii (except it has a handheld as a control) and basing on how many games of Wii I really own (1 I think, without counting Wii Sports) I probably won't get it any sooner than a sony console. I'm pretty sure Nintendo is really just trying to revolutionize gaming in every way they can, and try to make it family sided which really just not works (The chances of seeing a family as a whole play a videogame in a generation of their watchers is just really low, have you ever played for a week in a row with your family for hours a nintendo videogame?) This doesn't mean parents feel more confident buying from Nintendo I guess.

Now for the Smash Bros., I really didn't expect to receive anything this E3, it was too early to see anything (I mean last one was not even near starting and they mentioned for one second) and they probably knew the others weren't going big either so they saved it for the next one (All of them did I guess).

NintendoLand looked cool though, if you actually looked around some youtube videos, but it's probably be just like WiiSports except with added variety so it might last a bit longer "Oh Cool!" "I'm bored now..."
I mean the DK one looked pretty boring compared to the others.

Yes, actually. My family and I used to play video games together all the time. Not so much nowadays, but we used to.

USHERING IN A NEW GOLDEN AGE OF ENTERTAINMENT

That's all you need to know about Microsoft. I didn't watch much of Nintendo, or any of Sony, but Nintendo just revealed some dumb stuff for the Wii U that I might not even get.

My personal winner this year was Ubisoft. I'm definitely getting AC3, and Watch Dogs looks awesome, but if everything in the game only has one solution, like, you have to hack THIS AND THEN THIS THEN DO THIS EXACTLY LIKE THAT instead of there being multiple ways to complete stuff, then I hate it and it's stupid.

Also what is this about Sony Super Smash Bros.? o_o I haven't heard anything about this.

I agree with you 100% about the Watch Dogs thing. If there is only one solution for everything, I will be severely disappointed.

As for Sony Smash Bros:

Why is thriller playing on the background?

And as I said, it's low and I meant like current time where your family knows you're not a kid anymore lol.

And also now that I look at it, it looks like it copied games that copied Smash Bros., because you know, if you copy a copy from a copy of a copy, it becomes original.

Lets think like MvC3, if there's no sonic, it's bad anyway obviously, I mean, it's not like he is in Smash Bros. and is coming to the next one or anything, and sony obviously means SEGA.

Wait, what? That game came out years ago, and it's not like people were begging for a sequel! Why is that even a thing?

The game is just using Playstation exclusive characters, with some 3rd party characters.
Fat Princess and Parappa the Rappa are Exclusive.
Big Daddy is 3rd party I'm pretty sure. Or 2nd party. Don't know.

So, yeah. Expect Snake, Cole, Rachet/Clank, and Jak/Daxter.

Possibilities: Ryu, Megaman, Amaterasu, basically any game on a playstation system that had a popular or well-regarded character. (Or in some cases, a character that they want to have more recognition.)

Don't expect Sonic or anything though. It's possible, but not likely.

And as for E3, I didn't watch any of it. Just Major points. But yeah, I'd say Ubisoft won. I'd give Sony second, just because the presentation seemed to be better than Nintendo's. And again, I don't really care for the WiiU, so I didn't really care for Most of Nintendo's stuff.

Microsoft last of course. Or like, EA or something. Don't know if they count.

Yeah, Big Daddy is a 3rd party character.

I'd like to see Amatarasu in the game. There's also leaked possible evidence that Ico might be in the game in some form.

I don't think capcom will be featured a lot, because if it were, it would have probably been a vs Capcom of sorts lol

My E3 experience: everyone said ubisoft was good so I watched 5 minutes before deciding it sucked (in other words when they introduced the guy with the iPad who was backstage.)
Then i watched nintendo's till halfway through I realized I really, really didn't care about the improvements the WiiU will have on Batman (which will be out for a year before WiiU is launched).
So for me the winner is level-5 because the game Ni-No-Kuni sounds freaking awesome, it looks like a real-time pokemon game.
