Just got back from Canobie Lake Park Screeemfest.

It was awesome.

I went on the zero gravity first. It was one of those rides where they strap you to the wall and it spins and goes almost upside down or whatever.

Next was the Yankee Cannonball. Huge line, but it was worth it. The Cannonball is pretty much the big ride of the park. It actually can be seen from the parking lot, which is kinda cool. I got the back seat, so the big drops was like getting punched in the gut.

Two of my friends went on the Starblaster, which is the thing where you're on a pole or whatever and you go up and down. I hate the ride, it's kinda boring and for whatever reason there's always a big line.

I didn't feel like going into one of the haunted houses for whatever reason, so I waited outside while my bros went in. Then a guy called Nightmare came over to me.

Basically, they pay people to put on these actually really good costumes and scare the crap out of people. But Nightmare is different.

See, Nightmare is basically this huge guy, like really tall, and he has pretty much a face that sort of looks like Cthulu, and was in this sort of ancient armor or something.

So he's walking over to me, and I'm actually kinda freaked out. Because he's really getting into it. He's walking toward me stretching out his neck, looking like he's gonna beat the everlasting crap out of me. So when this seriously intimidating guy named Nightmare walks toward me, I do the first thing that comes to mind.

Brofist.

I stick out my fist. Nightmare looks at my hand. He looks at his hand. He looks at me.

And he sort of jumps at me in the way you would do if you're trying to make someone flinch, and he must have had a voicebox or something because he made a noise almost exactly like the Predator. And then he was like "I got you!" Since his sort of gimmick is that he's this really intimidating guy who jokes around scaring people.

I actually had a conversation with Nightmare about the park. He asked if I had been in all the Haunted Houses yet. That was actually the goal of the night, which we ultimately failed to complete.

Then after a few minutes I said goodbye to Nightmare as he went off to scare some kids. I had fried dough for the first time, and was amazing. We went on a few other coasters and haunted houses, and it was pretty much an awesome night.

Just decided to share it with everybody because why not.

This Nightmare seems like a pretty nice guy. I personally don't get any joy out of being scared.. so I skip all the Halloween theme park stuff - in my case Busch Gardens (and Kings Dominion if anyone is willing to drive that far). But It's good you had fun. =)

That's awesome! I went there one time on a class trip, but not during Halloween time. The Yankee Cannonball was my first real rollercoaster. I thought I was going to fly out of it. Was it Nightmare from Soul Calibur?

Nightmare from Kirby's Nightmare in Dreamland? Nightmare from Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening?

I'm pretty sure Nightmare isn't involved in any of the Kirby canon...

He was the final boss of Kirby's Adventure and its remake, Kirby: Nightmare in Dreamland.
