| This news is for you, since I think you're the only 3DS Ambassador here besides me.
The full list of GBA titles was announced.
F-Zero: Maximum Velocity Yoshi's Island: Super Mario Advance 3 The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones Kirby & The Amazing Mirror Mario Kart Super Circuit Mario vs Donkey Kong Metroid Fusion Wario Land 4 WarioWare Inc: Mega Microgame$
A pretty nice list indeed. I only own four games on the list, so I'm looking forward to them.
They come out in a few days on the 16th......... in Japan. They still haven't announced a date for North America, but unless Nintendo wants to make themselves look worse than they did in the first place, they'll keep their promise to release it by the end of the year.. which is in a couple weeks.

| Random, but nice list. Too bad I don't have a 3DS.
Wait, Jeff isn't talking to us.

Pokemon would have been a lot of trouble to include. First off, anything Pokemon means tons of money, so giving it for free would have lost potential profit. Second, they would have to release all five games on the Game Boy Advance in order for someone to get all the possible Pokemon, which would have been a waste of slots for other games. That's why there's no Pokemon.

| The main games bringing in profit however are from generation IV and up, I assume. I don't think Nintendo gains profit from generation III and under games as much, considering the main way of obtaining those games nowadays are from black markets and such. At least where I live. | |

Well think about it this way. A Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald remake probably isn't far away. If they gave the originals for free, they would lose potential future purchases.

| True. But that leaves Firered and Leafgreen which, frankly, are probably the least popular games in the entire franchise, so it seems like it would be a perfect fit. | |

Well that brings me back to my first point. They would need to include all five GBA games, or people will complain they can't complete the Pokedex. And what if they end up releasing the original Game Boy games on virtual console?

| Hmm. Well, I have no knowledge of how exactly they port games onto the system, but if they can, I don't see how they can't sort of reprogram it to include/omit any questionable Pokémon. Of course, that would drastically reduce the replayability of the games, and it would make a lot of generation III fanboys angry.
Perhaps Game Freak could learn a lesson here. Of course, they obviously only care about money, otherwise they wouldn't release the same game twice on the same day, and then release it again a year later, because they know brain surgeons like us will buy it and not complain. They're evil geniuses, almost on Capcom's level. It would be nice though, if Pokémon was available. No one can really deny that.

| The games are now up for download. You can get them the same way you got the NES games. | |

| OK, I understand about the Pokemon thing. But, maybe with the Pokemon 15th anniversary, there could be a special thing where every Pokemon Game in existence could be downloaded for free on the 3DS 2 or whatever, but only a limited offer or a special circumstance or something. | |

| for those unaware pokemon is owned by a second party. There's no way in nether Game Freak would lose their potential sales because of Nintendo's mistake of pricing. Your never going to be able to legally obtain free "main" pokemon games. Gamefreak is proably waiting for both: a) people to figure out how to get multiplayer connections and stuff to work: as well as a way for someone who owns 2 compatible games on the same sd to trade with themselves and b) a year with no big releases lined up so they can suck fanboys wallets (aka me) through the use of ports. | |
