| So my dad got some games so we can play, I don't mind them, but here's my review on them (haven't cleared them all, if that's possible) to make the forums a little more active (and by that I mean you guys have to post more, call Jaco in here for god's sake (and Dark, come back here too!), and I hope not to be left hanging!). These games are not 2012 exclusive or anything. FIFA 2013.- Spoiler:
Still the same game.
(from FIFA 2005) Need for speed: Hot Pursuit.- Spoiler:
I like crashing. Driving for a little while, sure. No local multiplayer, dafuq is dis?
While we're at it, Uncharted 3 (GotY edition ;D).- There's really no spoilers around here:
It's fun, I like it, I like the fast-paced parts, I don't like the fact that the Hard difficulty is, you know, I'll leave the swear words out, IMPOSSIBLE (in some levels), well atleast if you don't uncover yourself, which is also impossible, and there's even a harder difficulty, to top it off. But leaving that out, it's my PS baby, aside the sexy PS itself, which I will probably have for the next console I buy which will be at approximately 3+ years after release, so I have some long way to go (unless that console is the WiiU). Oh well, <3 naughty dog. Final Fantasy XIII- I just want this to look shorter really, no spoilers, I think. Yeah. Checked. No spoilers:
Cool (graphics), it's turn-based and to understand everything you have to read a ton I haven't read, it's also very progressable or whatever the word is in terms of gameplay and mechanics, but as every turn-based game, it doesn't keep the flow going for you to keep playing it all day (even though it's semi-turn based, it's still turn based). I still don't get how punches can defeat a big metal monster. (Ignoring the other big reviews, btw, by the pace this is going, I hope it keeps the kind of fast-paced going and not a lot of grinding when I don't feel like it) Oh yeah, I forgot, love the music for now. Totally expected though. Battlefield 2- Spoiler:
No idea, haven't tried it. I'll expect it to be like a FPS. God help me if I ever go on the online (atleast it's Sony community, and a new one already came out). Black Ops II- Spoiler:
Never thought I'd had it, now I can take off every COD expensive game off my wishlist and add other expensive games. And I can bring any one who likes FPS to my house, probably not a good idea, but whatever, I guess I'm only missing the Xbox and Halo.
Oh right, haven't played it (COD), but when I do, I'll go right to the zombies, cuz zombies are cool.
Ok well yeah, FIFA 13 has Messi so that's new, has some button to make tricks (and a playstation move (compatibility) I won't buy, me thinks), you can do different celebrations and all, you can "be" the goalie, improved AI stuff, better animations when landing on the goalie or breaking someone's leg, some training stuff, but I'm pretty sure FIFA 2012 had all that so..., it'll be there for whenever my dad feels like playing or I want to feel like a cool guy with a soccer ball (since I like playing basketball more but not watching it or probably playing it on a console, which I think is kind of backwards with soccer (or football, whatever)). Notice the EA abundance. Well that's all for today folks, keep it classy, as someone I know used(s?) to say. I'm probably not going to do a big review for any of these, just saying. Also I probably enjoy all of these more than I show/should, I just wanted to sound cool or I'm saying these if somehow my dad reads this last sentence, but you know I like every game so there's probably no bad game review coming from me, unless I got really bored or stressed from it. I can still see a game's flaws and everything though... You know what? Snap it, I loved (ok not really, loving is too far) atleast liked all of these games (atleast for a little while, and oh my the graphics, and did I mention the FF music? I'll go back and add that). This is soo much longer than I expected. Well I activated this section now for a new year/apocalypse to come, and if anyone new joins they can feel there's more activity going (I don't know how good that is).

Most of the time I would just drive around and cause trouble. Sounds totally fun. In this game you can do that but you're limited only to roads I think and you can't fall from ledges to somewhere a little lower. And it's focused more on the need for speed.

| Yeah, just like Hot Pursuit 2. It's still fun though. I feel like the controls in the later games are smoother too. | |

| In this one you just use 4 buttons, so you use two fingers (the L2 and R2) and change your thumb from x to square depending on the moment (turbo or whatever and hand brake respectively). I'm pretty sure it would be the same on the second, with only new cars? What's the difference actually, the graphics already look pretty good, is there even less cars (there's like, 3 every minute here on this one)?

Well in here there's only missions and missions you are a cop (well and a free run to do whatever you want, which is basially run a bit then end it on a big crashing finish, haven't tested if it exists on cop style). I still don't get the part where there's online multiplayer, yet no offline multiplayer?! What were thinking them! - AVGN, or something like that. And that was a fast response, I changed the page and clicked back, changed the tab, and just now I realized you posted something lol

| Don't beat your sister! Good lord... Anyway, here we go King Arthur's Gold (KAG) - Spoiler:
This game is awesome. It's kind of like a cross between Terraria and TF2, but it's much more than that. I've spent like a million or so hours playing this game. There's a paid version (which I got) and a free version with fewer features (that I've been playing lately since hardly anyone's on the "gold" servers nowadays lolol). It's cool. You can collapse stuff on your enemies. There are catapults and bombs. WEEE
Dustforce - Spoiler:
A+ for soundtrack. This game is a neat little platformer where you clean up stuff lolol. It reminds me of Super Meat Boy but with better music. You can slide up walls and stuff just like in Super Meat Boy. There are four characters with slight but noticeable differences in jump height, run speed, and other attributes (except for one girl who can triple jump instead of just double jumping).
Super Mario 64 Speedrun Edition - Spoiler:
Fun, wanna race? lolol
That's all I can think of right now, come back later

| Alright, I'm gonna post reviews of games I've beaten in marathons of 2012 (according to the records). I left out games I played, but didn't finish because this list will be long enough as is. I'll try to keep these short and sweet. By the way, I love this idea for a topic, Max. Incoming wall of spoiler tags. Spring Cleaning Marathon:- VVVVVV:
Amazing level design, amazing soundtrack, amazing mechanics. Amazing game.
- Portal 2 Co-op:
This game killed my (and I'm assuming Dark's) brain. It was like the single player, but with double the portals to think about. Loved it. 10/10
- No Time To Explain (The free flash game):
Hilarious premise and catchy soundtrack (of one song). The gameplay was pretty broken though. Good for a free five minute game.
- Minecraft Capture the Wool Maps:
Dark and Max totally cheated. Fun maps.
- Jefferlope Does His Homework While He Listens to Music:
Meh. The gameplay was dull and borning, but the soundtrack was nice.
- Tetris Battle:
Tons of fun, provided you've got friends to play it with.
- Hunger Games - The Game:
Extremely accurate to the movie and book. Remember when Katniss was killed in the first few seconds? Random Gameathon 3:- Pokemon Platinum Version:
Sinnoh has to be one of my favorite regions. I love the setting and characters, and it is home to some of my favorite Pokemon. Unfortunately, everything in the game, from the health bars to the battle animations to the text, moves slow as a Paralyzed Shuckle holding an Iron Ball. [See what I did there?!]
- Kirby's Return to Dreamland:
Pretty fun, but nothing special, as far as Kirby goes. My race of the game vs Dark was intense. He beat me by just a few seconds. Also, THOSE BACKGROUNDS! They're beautiful.
- Super Paper Mario:
I enjoyed the game so much more this playthrough than the first time I played it. The worlds are creative, the story is creative, complex and emotion-filled, and the gameplay and mechanics are plenty of fun and, well, creative. It's just a creative game.
- Back to the Future: The Game:
If you like the Back to the Future movies, which I do, you will love this game. It's pretty much another BttF movie on it's own.
- Pokemon Conquest:
It's Fire Emblem (and I've heard Final Fantasy Tactics), but with Pokemon. Fun times. I couldn't get myself to play past the main campaign, though.
- Yoshi's Story:
This game is the happiest game I ever played! You can't frown playing this. Great game to play when you're depressed.
- Pokemon Green Version:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Those translations! Seriously, though. The game's pretty broken. Pokemon movesets are awful, game mechanics and stat systems are awful, and region is boring to travel through. I say skip it.
- Pokemon Gold Version:
See Pokemon Green Version, other than the thing about the region. I think the new games have spoiled me. I don't think the series was fully polished until Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum came along. Foreverthon:- Paper Mario:
All that creativity! Not as much as the two games that came after it, though. [See Super Paper Mario]
- The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker:
Ehhhhh. It's not as good as I thought the first time I played. I think the game is spectacular in its first half, but it gets kind of dull after the Tower of the Gods (which is the halfway point). Looks beautiful, and has an amazing soundtrack, though.
- Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective:
Plot twists! So many plot twists! I can't even describe the story without spoiling the plot twists! Take my word for it, the story is emotional, hilarious, dramatic, suspenseful, and unpredictable. The puzzles are thought provoking without being frustrating, and the game is filled to the rim with creativity. Also plot twists. Great soundtrack too. And art. And humor. And animations. I could go on complimenting this game for days. An extremely unique experience. 10/10
- The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Ages:
I had to make sure to force off my nostalgia glasses for this one. The puzzles, the story, and the mechanics all work together in just the right way. Also, the game makes the best use of a time-travel system in any of the games in the series, in my opinion. Except maybe Majora's Mask; it's debatable. Anyway, the game is perfect. 10/10
- Phoenix Wright Ace Attorney: Trials and Tribulations:
My God, Capcom, you've done it again. [See Ghost Trick and Oracle of Ages.] The overarching story in this game has to be my favorite story in the series (other than the bonus case in the first game), and one of my favorite stories in general. Through the final trial, I was sitting on the edge of my seat for hours, constantly needing to know what happens next. And the plot twists. Unfortunately, the game has some problems keeping it (along with the other Ace Attorney games) from perfection. It gets frustrating at times, when you are trying to find the right evidence to present and as such, the pacing of the game gets thrown out of balance constantly. Spectacular game, though. 'Community Stream Month 2012', 'N64 Galore' and 'Yuso & Co Put on a Show'- Kirby 64:
It's alright. Bonus 2012 Reviews:- The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap:
I have been liking this game more and more as time passes. Now, after almost a year since I replayed it, it is one of the best Zelda games (under Oracle of Ages, of course), in my opinion. It brings so many unique puzzles and items and mechanics and characters to the table. Thank you Capcom, again. It does have its issues, though, one being the huge degree of randomness required to complete the game (100%). The game is great, though. If you haven't played it, go do that. If you have played it, go play it again.
- Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance:
The gameplay was fun, and the worlds looked nice, but it just felt barren. The maps were huge to support new game mechanics, but there was nothing in them. It just made me feel cold and alone. The story is mostly setup for what I assume will be Kingdom Hearts 3.
- New Super Mario Bros 2:
I absolutely HATE that I enjoy this game! Normally, I would argue when people say Mario games are the same thing again and again, but the New Super Mario series is all exactly the same! However, as much as I don't want to admit it, I really did enjoy this game (along with the other New Marios). It's a great way to pass the time, but it doesn't offer anything new or unique or creative.

- Super Mario 64 Speedrun Edition:
Fun, wanna race? lolol The KAG sounds fun and cool, I like those kind of games since I can run themlolo. Both of there where played by yogcast something or something, so it was easy to reference lolol. And racing against you is like me being as slow as a Paralyzed Shuckle holding an Iron Ball. [See what I did there?!] Didn't Jeff play it on the marathon? I'm pretty sure I heard some commentary. (Not Mario 64, Dustforce, but that too) - Things I quoted that this guy wrote:

Spring Cleaning Marathon:
Portal 2 Co-op No Time To Explain (The free flash game) Minecraft Capture the Wool Maps Jefferlope Does His Homework While He Listens to Music Tetris Battle Hunger Games - The Game

Bonus 2012 Reviews: The Legend of Zelda: The Minish Cap Kingdom Hearts Dream Drop Distance New Super Mario Bros 2 Thanks, lol. Friendly wall of spoiler tags above (Too much COD, by above I meant the sky, but this works too). Some more responses so this doesn't die: - Spring Cleaning Marathon:
Portal with double the portals?! What?! It's kind of double the portals, since you can only shoot yours, right? lol
No Time To Explain was amazing, what you on about gameplay?! The scenes did kind of glitch sometimes, just as eerything else (lolol).
We didn't cheat! We won fair and square! We got a 1.2355 K/D streak! [I have no idea what I just said]
JDHHWHLM was the best game evur, as long as I don't play it.
Lol tetris battle, remember the part where I won and placed the blocks where they went? I do!
Hunger Games - The Game made me want to read the books and see the movie.
- Random Gam3athon:
Dark owned you, btw, again.
Pokemon Conquest was not useless at all. Heh.
Best translations. (Where's the ยด in the e, jeff? I thought you like grammatics!)
Kanto = best cuz nostalgia, whatchu talkin about (even though this got old)
- Foreverthon:
Ghost Trick <3
Wasn't oracle of ages developed by Nintendo and with the help of some Capcom members, unlike Minish cap that was then officially changed to Capcom with Nintendo on the background or something like that?
Phoenix Wright is cool.
- Everything else:
What happened to the old Kirby 64 you?!
Haven't played Minish cap, should probably do that.
... so that's what DDD meant!
Now you know why EA fans love new installments and why all FPS fans rage about the game being different and noob friendly (they say that every single game, kind of like MvC3's release, but way more ragesounding, probably because MvC isn't released every year)?

| Oh man guys, I've got some bonus 2012 mini-reviews before the year ends! - Scribblenauts Unlimited:
I remember back when this game was just Scribblenauts. It's grown so much since then! Pretty much every issue I had with the first game had been fixed through this and Super Scribblenauts before it. There is so much room to be creative, you can't play this game without smiling. The game offers little in the way of challenge some levels in the DS games had, however, but it is still a very enjoyable play. If you plan on picking this game up, a word of advice: Turbo is faster than fast!
- Peter Bell Saves Xmas:
Perfect game. Amazing soundtrack, beautiful art, fluid controls. 10/10 [/sarcasm] It's alright. LINK
- The Walking Dead:
This game really knows how to make you feel like a terrible person. It's incredible. It's just like the show (and, I assume, the comics), with huge moral issues and themes, and the whole idea of forming bonds with characters knowing that anyone can die at any moment. The only difference between the show(/comics) and the game is that in the show, you're watching somebody make all those tough choice. In the game, you have to make all the choices yourself, and you will suffer any consequences that come from it. Most of what you say or do to other characters will affect how they feel about you and ultimately the actions and events they will take place in as such. The game does an amazing job with this. The pacing of your movements and the dialogue also work perfectly in setting the moods and tones the game wants you to feel. Tthe voice actors also did a spectacular job of making it believable. The game is very graphic, is full of strong language, and will constantly hit your emotions hard, so I wouldn't recommend it to anyone who is sensitive to any of that.
- Journey:
This game - No. This experience is absolutely beautiful in every possible way. The art is beautiful, the music is beautiful, the landscapes are beautiful, the themes are beautiful, the journey is beautiful. You will get through Journey in an hour or two, but you will feel like you have been on an epic, emotional journey full of action, adventure, bonds (with other people. I'll get to that in a bit), hardships, triumphs, and, of course, beauty. The game features a very interesting online multiplayer system, where you will randomly meet other players through your journey. There is no chat or messaging system or usernames, and yet, you will form bonds with these other journeyers. It works seamlessly, and really builds on the experience. I know I'm not being very clear about Journey here, but it is hard to put this masterpiece into words. I will say, however, Journey is not for everyone. If you aren't into artsy-type games, you won't get much out of this. If you want to give it a chance, however, it is on sale on PSN right now, so this is your chance.
