So Zelda: Wind Waker is behind remade for the Wii U (or as I call it, the Wuu).

http://www.zeldauniverse.net/zelda-news/aonuma-announces-wind-waker-hd-wii-u/

Everybody probably knows about this know, but I figured I'd make this thread for a discussion. WW is my favorite Zelda game, so I'm super HYPE for this.

It looks cool and all, and I'll probably pick it up when I finally get the WiiU, but I'm not so sure about it, judging from those screenshots. Is it just me, or does everything look unstintingly dead and unlifelike?

In my honest opinion, I think Wind Waker was the Zelda game least in need of an HD tuneup. Its graphics/art style were already timeless as it was. On the other hand, imagine the HD treatment done on one of the games with more dated graphics, like Ocarina of Time or Link to the Past, or even Skyward Sword. I mean, I understand why they chose Wind Waker. The older games would have to be rethought altogether in order to be remade, and Skyward Sword and Twilight Princess (and Ocarina of Time with its 3D remake) are far too new to make any profit on the project.

That said, maybe my opinion will change once we get more than just still images. Maybe when I see the characters moving and breathing, the wind blowing, birds flying, and waves churning things might look more natural.

Now, how 'bout that Yoshi's Epic Yarn?

I think everything just looks un-lifelike because they're just screenshots to show off the graphics. Odds are this will have just as much, if not more polish and details than the original game. Once there's NPCs and stuff in there, it'll probably look normal.

Ocarina of Time has had too many rereleases. It doesn't need any more at this point. And the only way I would accept a new Skyward Sword is if they made the motion controls better. Seriously, even in playing the Zelda game on Nintendo Land, the motion controls are better than Skyward Sword! It's weird having like exact 1:1 controls in a game on essentially a minigame collection, but not in an actual main game of one of their most popular franchises.

That Yoshi game looks really nice. I didn't like Kirby's Epic Yarn, and I get the feeling that I wouldn't like that game either. But maybe when more stuff about it comes out I could get interested in it.

Did Skyward Sword have bad controls? They were pretty perfect for me. Of course, I don't have a WiiU to compare it to.

Kirby's Epic Yarn felt (no pun intended) like the type of game I would play with my kids. They're probably going to take the same direction with this one. Of course, they do have Takashi Tezuka, the director of Yoshi's Island and Yoshi's Story, overseeing the project's development, so there might be some kind of challenge to this game. Like being able to die.

Yeah. To me, not being able to you know, lose was kind of a big knock against Epic Yarn. It was a nice little game but to me it was too easy and boring to be able to even get through the first world. Maybe if the Yoshi game is harder and you can actually do the abilities that you could do in other games in the series then I may like it better.

Majora's Mask remake in WiiU would've been better.

What's with Nintendo and yarn, Nintendo Land is full of it too.

And wasn't that rumor or fact (I think it was just a rumor or something, idk anymore) back then that Kirby's Epic Yarn might've been Yoshi? I remember the Supa podcast in which it wasn't going to be Kirby, I don't remember if it was known back then if it was Yoshi. But now it definetely seems like it, so they either planned this since earlier and just changed the other one to kirby since it was made already, and just waited for a time to make Yoshi. So I'm going to assume it's going to be a lot like Kirby's Epic Yarn, if the rumors were true, but now supervised better and fixing errors Kirby made, and relating it better to Yoshi.

Also, the WiiU probably has better stuff, since the problem wasn't the controller but the sensor's placement and probably how it was made. For me it's better to have it in front of the TV instead of above, and everything just works so muh better, I don't remember as much since I don't use my Wii a lot anymore.

So they changed the controller to Wiimotion+ to fix the controller, and since the WiiU was coming out, they fixed the sensor probably. The problem was in the console itself probably, if it wasn't the sensor (I should probably playtest skyward sword while I can).

Still waiting Egoraptor's Zelda's sequelitis btw, which is going to be Ocarina vs one zelda I forgot (A Link to the past?), it's about 30+ minutes long apparently.
I just thought Tetris (and jeff) wanted to know.
