| Hey Peeps! How was your day today? Good I hope. Listen, I wanted to make this and ask you all a question. (This question is for everyone, staff and members.) What do you think needs to happen in order to make the forums a more active/fun place to be? Is it the look of the forums?, the thread categories?, or is it because the forum rarely has topics to reply to? A mixture perhaps?
Well I think that you should all post your honest opinions here, on what needs to happen to make this place grow and prosper into a great community. It's a surprise that we have 60+ members, but it is an even bigger surprise that not even half of those people are active. Heck not even 75% of our members are active. Seriously, what needs to be added or taken away for you guys to feel at home? And why do you think people don't stay on this forum to long after signing up? I know these are a lot of questions, but there are a lot of problems to address.
We are having a Podcast this week, and I am hosting it, so if you guys bring up something interesting, we just might talk about it on the show. *Also, I am fully aware there is a marathon suggestion topic, but this is more of a forum matter than a marathon one. |

| The thing is, there's already plenty of forums on this, forum.
But the new members aren't compelled to keep posting because of, ironically, a lack of members who post. It's like ten guys max who regular here, including me. Frankly I think the biggest problem is that, still, no one knows what this is, and why.
Advertising is the major problem. My only suggestion is to subtly plug here in, say, the signature you have on other forums. People will check it out, possibly sign up, and hopefully post regularly. Until there are more active members, getting more to keep coming back is the major problem.

| There's a podcast coming up? I didn't know that.
I think we should probably put the forum link on Brawlroom. That might attract some more people. Also, this is slightly unrelated to the forum, but we should do more non-marathon streams.

| @Retros- I understand what you mean. But the thing is getting people to stay once again. Maybe it's like you said and our Goal isn't clear enough for people to see... maybe I can work on a banner to make things a little clearer?
@CoolGreenApple- Yeh there is a podcast coming up, it won't be live but it will hopefully be edited and uploaded a few hours after it is recorded.
Putting the forum link on brawlroom is how I imagine most of the 60 members came to be, it isn't a matter of getting members here, its also a matter of getting them interested in the forums.
Non-Marathon streams you say? We have a section for that... but I have never personally posted anything there. I suppose I would be ok with doing a non marathon stream of me gaming for fun... If that would get viewers I'd do it in a heart beat. |

I have been to hundreds of forums in which they give their message of the forums/site very clear, and do not have many members. We don't have to make the goal clear, we have to find users who like the objective to join, and not just random users (it's the internet after all).

| @Max- You have been to hundreds of forums? Wow, I'm impressed lol.
I believe because we are doing something unique and we are a small organization, yes, we have to make our goal clear. I understand you want users who like the objective to join, but have you seen all those people on the speed gamers website?
I don't think they started out liking the speed gamers because they donated to charity, they probably like me, didn't know what the speed gamers were all about, just that they were speeding through games live for the world to see. So I don't think there is a such thing as a random user, I think people will either be pulled in or pulled out depending on what they see. So that is why we need our goal to be clear, and that is why I feel we should go about this another way. |

It just takes time. | |

| I think we need to do more streaming either marathon or non-marathon, haven't we only done like 2 or 3 marathons so far?
If ever I get enough active watchers on DA I'd totally go for doing art livestreaming and linking those peeps up with us here.

| Yeah I know Max, it's just that we don't have time on our side. I'm pretty sure jeff said it's all or nothing.
@ Storm- Live art streaming? Pfft slick kid! I really do agree with you though, we should live stream more often. I told CGA this actually because he asked about it as well. I would be willing to stream when I have free time and if people wanted it. The thing is I don't know how I would play a game and commentate. So if I ever thought I had a little free time, I would ask one of you guys to help me with that. This stream would not be for charity per-say.... but it could get possible viewers. |

And Supa, I'd be more than willing to help out if you needed it and if my internet allowed. When my mom's online, my bandwidth is reduced to garbage.
