Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3

As most of you Know, MVC3 was released in February, 2011.
Capcom is now Releasing a New version of it called: "Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3"
To be sold at $39.99.
This Update adds 12 new characters, 6 new stages, a better online system, Spectator mode, a New HUD, Balancing for the characters, New Specials and supers to some Old characters, and some Updates.

The stages look Amazing, and The character choice isn't too bad either. (Unless you're one of the people who keeps whining for Megaman or something.)

Remind me never to buy a vanilla fighting game ever again.

I knew it was going to happen, but I bought mvc3 anyways. Just like I did with Ssfiv.
MVC3 though is different for me. I'm actually Willing to buy this again, unlike ssfiv in which I bought it to play as Cody. And to go against Josh and Jaco.

Also the character list isn't bad. (Except for Rocket Raccoon and Iron Fist. Not really sure about those 2.)
But UMVC3 is gonna get a lot of hate, just because Megaman isn't in it, or because they have to buy it again.
It's just like ssfiv. No matter how much they complain, they're gonna buy it anyways.

so you can't just buy some "ultimate" dlc for mvc3 on psn. wow i just used dlc, mvc3 and psn in the same sentence. Megaman's already just getting kicked around by capcom, first all his anticipated games get cancelled, then he doesn't get included in Capcom's biggest crossover game. also jeff, I hope you don't buy this game just for phoenix wright.

And I am disappointed that they added Rocket Raccoon. They could have added Venom or even War Machine! Rocket Raccoon is a space raccoon with a gun and acute senses. OMG! WOW! NOT!
And I am kinda disappointed the Firebrand made the cut. Megaman could have been in it, but I am not obsessing over him like some others.

According to Marvel and Capcom, Venom was never on the list of people to add.
And War Machine would end up being to much like Iron Man.
MVC3 Already has Ryu = Akuma. And Maybe Dante = Vergil. But Gameplay hasn't been shown yet.
Reason Rocket Raccoon was added, was because He has a moving coming out, and he's starring in a new Comic Book series about the Guardians of the Galaxy. He's also gonna have a Move set different from Most people in mvc3, He'll probably end up being like Cable from MVC2.

Don't count out Megaman yet though.
Apparently Gene from Godhand and Megaman were the last two Cut from UMVC3.
If Character DLC is coming out, My bet is that those 2 would be for Capcom. (Probably the X iteration for Megaman, since Niitsuma thinks he would fit best.)
And apparently about Firebrand being in, Capcom wanted a character To Fly and Swoop down like a Gargoyle. So... They got a Gargoyle.

As for Megaman games being cancelled, The creator of Megaman (Keiji Inafune), left Capcom for a couple of reasons. One of them was that he was upset with all Japanese Gaming companies, or something.

All of this was SUPPOSED to be DLC for MVC3, but since the Earthquake hit, Plans had to be cut, so they ended up making a new disc, With more features than the DLC were going to bring. If you think about it, 1 character= 5 Dollars. So if The twelve new additions for UMVC3 were DLC, then it'd be about $60 dollars. If you didn't buy Jill or Shuma for MVC3, then add another $70. UMVC3 is getting sold at $40 dollars. It's basically a better deal.

Personally, I really don't care for Megaman.
Most of the characters added to mvc3/umvc3, are characters Some people have never heard of before. This gives them the chance to learn about them, like Rocket Raccoon.

Most of the Fighting Community for UMVC3 is hating because Rocket Raccoon and Phoenix Wright are in instead of "Venom and Megaman"

I'm gonna take Deadpool off my Team just to use Phoenix Wright and Rocket Raccoon.
(If you knew me well, you would know that Me not using Deadpool, would be like Jaco liking Portal 2, or MVC. It just shouldn't or Wouldn't happen.)

I never heard hate for R.O.B. Mostly Pikachu because of his Down B Spam (Complaint from Jaco.) and Lucas. (Complaints from Jaco).

Everyone else seemed pretty fine. Except Ike, I always heard he was OP.

UMVC3 is different though. Rocket Raccoon atleast Deserves a Chance. People started hating on him before they saw his Gameplay.
Then All the people who wanted phoenix Wright are now hating on him, because Megaman should've been in instead of him.

Game Release date is in November by the way. I'm gonna guess about the 15th.

I don't know about MvC but the highest tier characters in SSBB were always Meta Knight and Snake.

pikachu is and always will be the greatest ssbb character. Also I only down B spam if spammed first, especially if the other person is c-stick spamming.

Pfft! Who even uses the c-stick now. Besides, what attacks you want them to use anyway to kill you?

So everyone is hating on Rocket Raccoon and Phoenix Wright.

Phoenix Wright is mainly being hated because people think he replaced Megaman, and they also think he Can't fight. We'll find out soon enough.

More Character Trailers are going to be revealed sometime at Gamescon.

Atleast, I think they are. I know Street Fighter X tekken Is going to get a new build and some character Add ins.
It'd be a shame to not show more umvc3 characters.

No matter what though, They atleast know how to make a character Fight.
Everyone thought M.O.D.O.K. wouldn't be able to play good. (Along with She-hulk.)
Now She-Hulk is one of the most used, and Modok is about Average.
So I'm Sure Phoenix Wright would be fine.

I use characters that look cool, she-hulk is not one of them.
Also i believe in the Capcom conspiracy that ever since the megaman creator left capcom they've been trying to destroy all things megaman. Universe, legends 3, UMvC3, their doing a pretty good job.

Legends 3 got Cancelled because The creator left, (also because the fans didn't support it enough or something.) and Universe was still being Made, but after a beta release for testers, the testers said it had a horrible art style, Unresponsive Controls, and a whole bunch of other negative feedback. Capcom then Cancelled the game due to Various reasons.

Megaman was the last one up for umvc3's Character list. But was left out. A long with Gene from Godhand.

I'm assuming they thought Zero and Tron were enough Megaman characters, so they didn't put him in.

Also assuming that Megaman will be one of the First DLC characters for UMVC3 if any.

So Capcom isn't Necessarily destroying him. Megaman is just having a rough time.

Plus Megaman wasn't a big deal in MVC. Only really to the fans. He was REALLY bad in mvc 1 and 2. MVC3 was mainly supposed to be composed of people who haven't been in the past games, Or deserve to be in the game. I'm glad to know that too, because now we can see Phoenix Wright in a fighting game. and a Major appearance from Vergil, Which we haven't gotten in a while.

People might say Megaman deserves to be in MVC3 because he's "Capcom's Mascot" but really, That's more Ryu's Job in my Opinion.

UMVC3 announced to appear at gamescon. We may see More Character Trailers. Really hoping It's Phoenix Wright, Vergil, Rocket Raccoon, or Nova if they do.

IMO, Mega Man should be the general mascot, and Ryu the fighting games mascot.

As far as unofficial mascots go, however, yes, MM would definitely be that. I have actually heard someone discuss this, and I think the reasoning was something akin to Mega Man best embodying the spirit of the company.



So apparently in addition to making great games, Capcom is also here to save the planet from overthrow by evil robot masters (and according to recorded history so far, I'd say we're doing pretty well--2009 and still no overthrows).

Idk if it's fake or not, but that's what supposedly seth said once a year ago I think, and seeing as neither megaman or ryu or appearing more somewhere like in the logo or something, it probably still is like that.

However, interesting fact is that apparently Captain Commando, for a very short time back in the 80s, was Capcom's favorite. Being on the back of boxes and in other game’s manuals. And this was before he even had his own game. He was technically their sponsor, and as one would probably call, a mascot. Then Mega Man came over.

Captain Commando was Amazing in mvc 2. His Assist was Really good.
Plus is name is CAPtain COMmando. Capcom. Of course he was the mascot. But in MVC1 and 2, he didn't look anything like he used to. Captain Commando just disappeared as far as I can tell.

If people want Megaman in mvc3 it's Fine, but there Are Characters that deserve a chance to be in the game too.

Technically It wouldn't be the Same Megaman (Most likely X, Since Capcom said he'd be the best iteration.) But it's something. (I think Zero and Tron should've been fine. But I guess not.)
