A new strain of ecoli just broke out in Europe. It's apparently a hybrid of two other strains. (at least that's what they think) They also think it may have come from Germany but they're not sure. 19 people have died so far in the past week and thousands more are infected. People are refusing to eat vegetables cuz they think the ecoli's coming from them. Russia's gone so far as to completely ban imports of fresh vegetables from Europe. The UN is working on making them repeal this because of the economic damages. Tons of vegetables have been thrown out because people are refusing to buy them, afraid of the ecoli scare. The fact that all these vegetable farmers are at a threat of going out business isn't helping the economy either.... So far we haven't seen any of this over in the U.S and we can only hope that it doesn't pop over here before we've found its source and how to better protect against it other than staying hygienic.
