| For some reason, Nintendo now thinks that adding a letter or number to an old console makes it brand new. DSi. 3DS. WiiU. | |

| DS is just copying gameboy. Also there's NES, SNES, N64 that all seem pretty familiar | |

I'm talking about the names, not the console. As for NES, SNES, and N64, the consoles ALL have "Nintendo" in the name. They just don't add it to the abbreviation. Nintendo GameCube. Nintendo Wii. Nintendo DS. I'm just disappointed that Nintendo named it WiiU because it makes it sound like a new Wii rather than a brand new console. I was upset about the 3DS's name for the same reason. It just sounds like a DSi or a GameBoy Advance SP.

| Technically, it's just called the "Wii". I don't know why, but Nintendo didn't put their name before it. I think it was because the word "Wii", being a corruption of "we", is supposed to represent the entire community of gamers, not just Nintendo.
It's still a stupid name either way, however, and Wii U just adds a whole new level of crap to things. Ah well. Not gonna judge it by it's name anymore.

| Look at these Wiki pages... Nintendo Entertainment SystemSuper Nintendo Entertainment SystemNintendo 64Nintendo GameCubeWiiNotice how the Wii's page is the only one without "Nintendo" in it's title, let alone before the word. Also, if you read further in the article: - Quote :
- The Nintendo Style Guide refers to the console as "simply Wii, not Nintendo Wii", making it the first home console Nintendo has marketed outside of Japan without the company name featured in its trademark.

| With your previous argument I was talking about shortened names hence the NES, SNES and N64. I always just called the Nintendo gamecube the gamecube and the wii the wii. the Wiiu thing is a marketing trick, all the wii-sport and wii fit families will just throw away another $500 for wii Sports U and wii fit U | |
