Kingdom Hearts III News.

In a Recent Interview with Tetsuya Nomura:
Nomura has stated that his team is currently too busy with other projects such as Final Fantasy Versus XIII to work on Kingdom Hearts III. He also stated that his team was doing research concerning the high-definition graphics of the game, and that depending on the technical requirements of the next generation consoles, Kingdom Hearts III may see a release on existing platforms. Story-wise, Nomura has revealed that it will pick up directly after the events of Dream Drop Distance and serve as the final chapter of the Xehanort Saga.

Which means, We probably won't see KH3 on:
Any Handheld

Hopefully Ps3 Exclusive.
If not, hopefully a Multi-Console Release.
Then again, Most games that are ported to different consoles get Nerfed.
Tekken 6 got nerfed Big time, and Final Fantasy XIII was gonna be a lot better, until 360 decided to get some Action.

I also think Wii might be a console that wont get KH3.
It's controls might be good for it, but the Wii would seem like it would be focused on a Spin-off story of KH (Which we don't want anymore.)
So If anything, Ps3 might be the best choice for a Console.

I don't count Birth by sleep as a "Spin off" It's more Adding to what happened before KH1, and giving us some more background information.
I count most prequels as apart of the main story.
Dream Drop Distance is supposed to be a Technical main game, and that KH3 is going to take place after it.

Edit: News Flash, many rumors say that Square Enix may be putting KH3 on PS3 AND 360, mostly because of Final Fantasy XIII.
It has Also been said that many think Marvel characters would appear in KH3, due to the buyout of Marvel comics by Disney.

Question though, if you are counting birth by sleep as a none spin off game, along with DDD.
Why isn't COM not with those games? You said the reason you don't consider BBS a spin off is because "It's more Adding to what happened before KH1" Well correct me if I'm wrong Dark Baby, but isn't COM ADDING on to what happened after KH1? And helping you understand the story of 2? I agree with the rest of the games on your spin-off list, but COM shouldn't be one of them. It's similar to DDD because that game is helping you understand the story coming up in 3.

COM is considered a Spin-off series by fans and the staff of Squeenix. And it Doesn't really "Add to the story." It more only tells how Sora got in that pod. That question is more likely just easily accessible by asking a Staff member of Squeenix, then spreading news to everyone else.
It's like this,

KH1 comes out.
Kh2 starts with Roxas and Sora and a pod.
Obviously, people would be like "Why is he there?"
That's just a simple Straight forward answer, which doesn't Necessarily mean it should be turned into a whole game. Just needs a Simple answer.

Now in Birth By Sleep's Case, The question is mostly: "Where did the keyblades come from, and how did Sora and Riku get mixed up in all of this."
That more or less, CAN be turned into a full game. It tells the story of how the keyblades came to be, and how Sora and Riku got into this.
instead of a Straight forward answer, It would be more like a bed time story.

DDD on the other hand...
I have no idea how that's apart of the main story.
But if Squeenix says it is, It must be apart of the main story.

Eh... Idk... I know some fans that consider COM part of the main story.. And I'm pretty sure the creator says that every game is important to understanding the series, which is obvious.. But he might just say all that stuff to sell the latest spin off. Anyways, I consider COM a game of it's own, I see it like this. Would you compare COM more to Re:Coded? or KH1 and KH2?

My answer is KH1 and KH2. Re:Coded is obviously a spin off, and we all can see that from first glance. (I mean why do you think I sold the thing? It was basically pointless.) But with COM, a fan favorite game in the series to some people, it brings a lot more to the table, and should be given credit for what it does.
